Mental health disorders list​ 10 types of mental disorders.Mental illness, also known as mental disorders, is a general term for a large group of disorders caused primarily by a variety of biological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors that disrupt brain function and lead to varying degrees of cognitive, emotional, volitional, and behavioral disorders in mental activity. There are 10 types of mental disorders, but not 14.

1. Organic mental disorders

including mental disorders caused by Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular disease, other brain diseases and physical diseases.

2. Mental disorders caused by psychoactive substances or non-addictive substances

Including dependence syndrome, withdrawal syndrome, amnesia syndrome, disorders of consciousness, hallucinations, delusions, food-induced mental disorders, etc.; and

3. Schizophrenia and other mental illnesses

Including paranoid schizophrenia, simple schizophrenia, post-schizophrenic depression, transient psychosis, peripheral psychosis, etc.; and

4. Mood disorders

Mood disorders, also known as affective disorders, are those in which the patient experiences prolonged periods of sadness or intermittent emotional highs. Common mood disorders include manic episodes, bipolar disorder, depressive episodes, and persistent mood disorders; and

5. Hysteria, stress-related disorders, neuroses

Including hysterical amnesia, hysterical wandering, hysterical psychosis, hysterical somatic disorder, acute stress disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorder, phobia, anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.;; and

6. Physical disorders related to psychological factors

Including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, insomnia, somnolence, sleep-wake rhythm disorders, hypogonadism, vaginismus, etc.; 7.

7. Personality disorders, habit and impulse control disorders, psychosexual disorders

Including paranoid personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, pathological gambling, hair-pulling fetish, fetishism, reproductive disorders.

8. Mental retardation and mental developmental disorders in children and adolescents

Including mild, moderate and severe mental retardation, expressive language disorder, receptive language disorder, specific dyslexia, childhood autism, etc.; 9.

9. Hyperactivity disorders, conduct disorders and mood disorders in children and adolescents

Including hyperactivity disorder, antisocial behavior disorder, dissociative anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, selective mutism, non-organic enuresis, stuttering, etc.; and

10. Other mental disorders

Including unclassified mental disorders, unclassified non-mental disorders, attempted suicide, self-injury, morbid passion, etc.
